Ching Chong Chinaman
My Theatre class required us to see two live production and write a review for each.
So I asked my friend, YuHan to accompany to see one of the production called Ching Chong Chinaman.
The theater held in City Lights Theater, San Jose.
Both of us have no cars, so we took bus together from Cupertino to San Jose.

It was my first time watching live production in States.
I thought the theatre is a big production with a big hall and big stage, but no, it is a small production.

Ching Chong Chinaman
- Written by Lauren Yee
- Directed by Jeffrey Bracco

This is a play about Chinese-American identity and identity in general — "Who am I and who do I want to be?"

The Cast
Ed Wong (by, Lawrence-Michael C.Arias)
Grace Wong (by, Chiho Saito)
Desdemona Wong (by, Monica Ho)
Upton (by, Anthony Chan)
Chinese Man, Jin Qiang (by, Nick Louie)
Chinese Woman, (by, Anna Lee

The Synopsis
The Wongs are as American as apple pie.

Desdemona wants to go to Princeton, but could use a little help with her calculus.
Her brother Upton wants to be a World of Warcraft champion, but needs more free time to train.
Upton solves both their problems by bringing in an indentured servant, but they soon discover that “Ching Chong” has an American dream of his own!

I don't really get what message does this play trying to tell us, even I had read half of the book.
This play is a little too bored for me.
I wonder what review should I write for my paper now :\
No comment for it =____=

I hope the next production I going to watch will be more interesting please.
ANYONE CAN ACCOMPANY ME TO WATCH THE NEXT PRODUCTION - RED? :(

some pictures of Ching Chong Chinaman play ;
we're not allowed to record or photography during the play, so the pictures are from google.

After the play, YuHan and I walked to a restaurant called Vung Tau to have our brunch + dinner.
We never eat for the whole day, damn hungry.
She chosen this restaurant from Yelp.com ~
