Broga Hill
The first hike to Broga Hill and I did it!!! For someone who doesn't exercise much, I was quite concerned about whether I would be able to climb for 5 minutes without stopping to pant! Was actually Allan's girlf's plan to go Broga Hill if I not mistaken ; She wanted to observe stars! oh so romantic :P We have total 6 persons include me in this adventure. For this adventure, we didn't slept for the whole night and started our journey by 4.30am! We prepared our bagpack, the most important thing is to bring your own torch light if you hike at this hour ; boyf brought bread, tuna and milo to there. We took an hour to climb up and reached the point. For me was kind the tough and damn tiring! I almost give up but end up boyf managed to brought me up there. Some advice for you all:
To tell the truth, I didn’t expect they’d be many hikers who are crazy enough to wake up in the hours and drive up to the Broga Hill just for the sake of catching the sunrise from a top of it. I thought we were already crazy enough for ever coming up with that idea in the first place. After suffering for an hour, finally reached! My legs going to break! tell you guys secretly, among my friends, I was the last one who reached! Boyf been forced to accompany me. aha. He was tired too! Once we reached, drink and eat to build up energy! lovely Jeann (Allan's girlf) applying tuna on bread for us :) us w/ bestie AllanTam! my boy and Allan the lovely couple, Jeann and Allan :) met new friends, is Jeann's friends ; the hello kitty Joey, and... sorry. I don't know the guy name. *they are not couple* (picture stolen from their fb. lol) and us! yay. You can't see me! Group photo of us ' 3 pairs. tiring faces! ignore my fugly face! Lazy to wear contact lens, and who will make up for hiking? lol kisses xoxo Be careful when you going down from the hill! Is quite slippery and more dangerous than the time you going up. HAPPY HIKING ! Studying Locally .vs. Studying Abroad
Decisions, decisions!!!A big step you'll have to make thus it's only fair to ponder back and forth to study locally or abroad. Here are a couple of pointers to aid off a little of the dilemma that is causing those sleepless nights. Worry not because truth be told, either or it will still be a remarkable endeavor in this stage of college-life. Remember - It is what you make of it! Studying LOCALLY .vs. Studying ABROAD The Cost Factor Studying Locally: Definitely cost beneficial to local students. You save approximately three times from the expected cost of studying abroad! Great savings - the comfort of your own bed, family's car to drive, the TV, the washing machine, everything a house needs! And of course, mom's home-cooked meals! Studying Abroad: The expenditure in the form of visa, passport, and flight charges! Not to mention foreign exchange rates for tuition fees, accommodation, transportation, and other necessities needed to survive! However, there are alternatives to keep within budget, and one thing's for sure is that the exposure and experience gained is - priceless! Behind The Books Studying Locally: There are outdoorsy hang-out spots but many prefer the comfort of air-conditioning. *hint - the malls!* - but at least close buddies and family members are here! Familiarity of roads, places, and lifestyle is certain, and nasi lemak (for Malaysian) is definitely at reach! Studying Abroad: Lots of outdoorsy spots to chill-out and relax with friends. You may struggle from culture shock, but having one or more good local friends from the country will help a lot. Much to explore ; places , food, lifestyle of the locals, fashion, etc...... Boo-hoos Studying Locally: Probably the only 'seasons' you'll experience are either wet or dry (in Malaysia), depending on which country you're at. Expect to miss out on the whole adventure package of studying and living in a new environment. Studying Abroad: The four seasons - Winter, Summer, Spring, Autumn. Communication barrier will be prone if their main language isn't yours. You're bound to feel homesick and possibly lost and alienated for a while. Expect huge cravings for your local favourite dishes too! Studying Locally: Convenience! Feeling at ease within comfort zone and having familiarity at home-ground encourages better focus academically. Also, you'll know what's happening around town as opposed to coming home from abroad as a 'tourist'. Most importantly, you will not be deprived of the instant love and support from family members and friends.Studying Abroad: Character-building - Doing things on your own will groom you to be an independent and confident person. A mind-broadening lifetime experience that sees a different way of life. You could also pick up a new languages or at least an accent! Possessing a foreign qualification helps make you resume stand out more. Last but not least, the priceless experience! CNY '12
2012 ; Year of Dragon. Here come my Chinese New Year post. Last two years were the worst CNY that I never ever had before, something happen in my family. However, I guess this year is the happiest CNY for my grandparents because all of us, the four families were here together! We had our reunion dinner at Restaurant Golden Dragonboat. FYI, my aunt is one of the lady boss at the restaurant, and my dad they all have share on there too. People, go and have a try on someday ya :D Try their dim sum in the morning. Chung / Chong 's family :) (FYI, my grandpa has two names with two different surname, written on the IC too. LOL) the child in my family are all TALL ; don't see those boys squatting like that, when they stand up, even taller than me. so friends, don't blame me on being so tall :P my family w/ my love grandparents ♥ Ladies! yea, I'm the tallest among the ladies. but soon, my cousin will be taller than me. look at the pretty girl with blue shoes, fourth from the left ; guess how old is she? She is only 12 years old! and already this tall! Those my darling acting cute behind me. wtf. babe Ann w/ me the the cousin sis ♥ Dinner time with pretty look on the left ; After dinner, came home and changed to crazy look on the right. Which one you prefer? haha My Chinese New Year was nothing special actually. As usual, people visited to my house, and we paid a visit to people's house. Those aunty uncle only know how to ask or talk the same thing ; boring~ " wa... this is your daughter? So tall! Don't dare to stand beside her la." "Why are you so tall???" "I thought you went to US already?" "When you going US?" "What you studying?" ............... ........ ... Annoying shit. LOL The whole CNY I spent only with my family, relatives, cousins... Normally, people gamble or play fire crackers on Chinese New Year. But, I don't play both. That's why my CNY is very boring. lil coussie. On the way to Pavilion ; Brought these two fella along. We were too bored staying at home. Ryan in pink ; ZhengYu in blue So, went to JunHao's open house. First time play Lami ; quite additctive! The ninth day of Chinese New Year is a significant day for the Hokkiens, it is a day of gratitude for their ancestors’ relive. I'm not a Hokkiens, but my Hakka family beholds the belief too. So on the eighth day of CNY, friends and relatives are invited to our house to join us for the prayer. (sorry for the low quality photos ; taken by my itouch4) What we called in chinese is 拜天宫 "bai tian gong" the people. grandpa praying :) this kiddo kept asking people to take photo of him. haha. 2012 Chinese New Year ended like that. You guys enjoy your Chinese New Year holiday? Happy with your amount of angpao's money? :P $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ my angpao's money :] little update!
I've been disappeared from this blog for so long! Too much of stuff to do and also being lazy to blog :\ Yes Yes Yes, I'm back... again. a little update bout my news ;
Which part of US? What University / College you going? What course you take over there? How many years you study over there? well well well... until I settle down everything, I will announce it :) I went few places of California, US last year December, came back on last month. California is a very nice place :) Surprisingly, I see people over there are polite and nice, so far I don't see any racist issue. I don't know whether it will happen when I study over there. Ohh. I visited to the college and universities that I want to go. The campus is freaking big! I think I will lost inside the campus, as what you all know, I'm a road-blind. Sigh! The day of leaving Malaysia is getting nearer and nearer. Now my feeling is like... excited of something new in US yet scare to miss something back here in Malaysia :\ Yes. I always say that I want to get out from the house, don't like my parents care about me, I want my own life... But when it really come to like that, you will think that staying with family in a house is still the best. Guess what? Until now, I don't know how to cook and I didn't ask my mom to teach. Hopefully I will learn to cook and be independent at there ; too much of relying people in here, makes me so useless. I definitely will miss Malaysia's food !!! :( Most of my friends one by one flying off for further studies :( Most of them go to Australia ; I see too much of Malaysian went to Australia or UK, this is why I don't choose to go there. lol. But I'm jealous of my friends can gather together at Aussie and I'm alone at US :\ SHIT. feeling sad again. I have to move on to what I had choose! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! |
